Pray for a Child Newly Conceived Through Spiritual Adoption

A Spiritual Adoption Program is a 9-month journey that follows the development and progression of a woman’s pregnancy. People will have the opportunity to “spiritually adopt” a child who is newly conceived this month. Not all newly conceived babies are allowed to be born. In fact, more than 4,000 babies will lose their lives to abortion each day. It is these babies that are asked to be prayed for and “adopted spiritually”.

A child can be “spiritually adopted” by an individual or by a family using the Adoption Certificates found in the pews. One side has an Adoption Certificate that can be filled out and placed in a specially marked basket recommended to be in front of the statue of

Our Blessed Mother. We recommend the child being prayed for, be named, thereby giving the baby the humanity he or she deserves.

The baby’s development can be provided by updated monthly reports on the third weekend of each month in the parish bulletin and on posters. Towards the end of the program, a baby shower can be hosted at all Masses. All items can be donated to the Life Center of Long Island. This program needs a coordinator to run the program smoothly and help set up the Baby Shower at the end of the 9 months. This would be a great project opportunity for a Respect Life Group, Confirmation Project Hours, or just someone that has it in their heart to lead their parish in this important mission.
