Where teen pregnancy and single parent homes are on the rise, it is essential that pregnant women choosing life have access to much needed support services. Our goal here at The Life Center is to empower pregnant and parenting women by providing them with the resources and emotional support needed to take care of themselves and their children and enable them to make healthy decisions for their future. Skilled consultants are available to provide information, guidance, hope, and encouragement to women and men struggling with an unplanned pregnancy.

AAA PREGNANCY OPTIONS

AAA Pregnancy Options is the Pregnancy help center run by The Life Center of Long Island. This is the heart of our mission and how we most directly help pregnant women. In addition to addressing the necessary material and financial needs, AAA Pregnancy Options offers free pregnancy test kits and sonograms by a licensed physician. Free intervention consulting is provided to give women complete and accurate information about all the services available to her. It has been our experience that when a woman learns the facts about fetal development, the possible complications resulting from an abortion, and is educated on all the help that is available to her, the majority of the time she will choose to carry her baby to term. Respect for Life, marriage, sexuality, and family, are discussed in a non-judgmental manner.

RESTORING HOPE AND PROVIDING HEALING-POST ABORTION MINISTRY

The Life Center is much more that a pregnancy center. We provide healing opportunities for any woman or man who has struggled with the profound emotional pain that often accompanies the abortion experience. The Life Center hosts a multitude of programs that guide a person through a process of healing, forgiveness, and wholeness. There is a 10-week program called HEART for women and HEALING A FATHER’s HEART. The Life Center also has a program called RACHEL’S VINEYARD RETREAT WEEKEND.

HUMAN SEXUALITY, A GIFT WORTH RECOGNIZING / ABSTINENCE EDUCATION

The Life Center affirms the dignity of the human person by providing vital sexual health information to the community. Our Sexual Integrity Program brings the message of sexual wholeness and healing to clients; highlighting the benefits of abstinence until marriage. Education programs such as these provide our young people with the knowledge, refusal skills and emotional conviction to make healthy decisions that foster self-respect. The Fertility Awareness Program a new form of Natural Family planning for married couples enables husbands and wives to determine the time of fertility to space or achieve conception. Both programs help foster healthy and fulfilling lives in and out of marriage.

SERVING OUR COMMUNITY SINCE 1986

The Life Center serves all the people of Long Island. Since 1986, a small group of dedicated individuals realized the necessity to help pregnant women in need. Today, we have grown to a pregnancy resource center serving over 250 women each month and assisting 300-400 a month over the telephone. We operate a center in Deer Park, NY, Massapequa, NY and Hempstead NY. Through the many urgent calls received monthly at our Deer Park office, and the over flow of clients in our waiting rooms we recognized a need to open the second location in Massapequa. In November 2006, we opened a location in Hempstead due to the overwhelming need o serving our community better in multi cultural areas. We are also support the Life Center in Ghana, West Africa.

The Life Center is a private, non-sectarian 501© 3 not-for-profit corporation which serves everyone regardless of race, religious affiliation or ethnicity. No one is turned away and there are no charges for our services. Our organization relies on the financial support of our benefactors without whom we could not continue our work. We need your help to continue our mission.
